Farming Concrete: Taking Count of the Produce in NYC's Community Gardens
Published May 27, 2010
Are you a community gardener who grows food? Ever wonder just how much food your garden grows? Find out, and help preserve community gardens across the five boroughs while you're at it!
By the end, our goal is to be able to say "We at ____ Community Garden grew _____ pounds of food in _____ square feet, serving ______# people, which is worth $______ and saved approximately ______ of greenhouse gas emissions from enetering the atmosphere."
Help fill in the blanks for YOUR community garden. There are several ways to get involved, from drawing plot maps to weighing produce to volunteering with outreach. For more information, email volunteer@farmingconcrete.com or visit farmingconcrete.com.
