FIND YOUR GARDEN All GreenThumb gardens must be open at least 10 hours a week and should have at least 10 members. Anyone can join a garden. There are more than 600 gardens from which to choose, so we urge potential members to choose carefully. To aid our volunteers in choosing a garden, we have provided a link to the NYC Open Accessible Space Information System (OASIS), where you can search for the gardens by street address, block and lot number, zip code, neighborhood, community board or borough. Click on the link and follow the instructions below to find your garden. We suggest you print this page to make it easier. After entering your search criteria, click on the coresponding button to bring up the map. Community gardens are in a light olive green color. You can click on or off any of the boxes to the right of the map to turn the views on or off. To ensure that you are looking at only gardens, click off the check marks next to parks, playgrounds and greenspaces then click the "redraw map" button at the bottom. This action will turn those views off. Now only gardens are left in green. You can use the buttons at the top to zoom in or out. To indentify the properties simply click on the area you wish to identify and scroll down to view details. You can read information about the properties, such as land ownership, the block and lot number, zoning, and more. Finally, you can scroll north, south, east, and west to find your street or neighborhood. Feel free to call our office as soon as
you know the name of the garden, so that we can provide you with the contact
information of the community volunteer who co-ordinates the garden activities.
