Over the past three years, Columbia Secondary School students have played an integral role in building a school cafeteria compost project, from classroom worm bins to outdoor garden compost. This workshop, led by 7th and 8th grade students from Columbia Secondary School for Math, Science, and Engineering, will focus on on-site compost possibilities for school gardens. They will discuss what compost is and the principles of composting, why and how their school composts, and strategies to engage school communities and students in cafeteria composting.

Grow to Learn registered school gardens may request soil, compost, and lumber for spring delivery.
