Find Your Community Garden

Anyone can join a garden. With more than 600 gardens across the five boroughs, we urge potential members and volunteers to choose carefully. To aid in your search, we have provided below the NYC Open Accessible Space Information System (OASIS), where you can search for gardens by name, street address, block and lot number, zip code, neighborhood, community board or borough.

After entering your search criteria, click on the corresponding “Search” button to bring up the map.

Interpreting Your OASIS Search Results

Community gardens are in a light olive green color.

To the right of the map, there are different map criteria that you can check on or off. To ensure that you are looking only at community gardens, click off the check marks next to parks, playgrounds, and greenspaces, then click the “Redraw Map” button at the bottom.

Above the map are tools that allow you to Identify (get information regarding the gardens or other pieces of property), Zoom In, Zoom Out, and Re-center the map.

You can also scroll North, South, East, and West to find your street or neighborhood.

To identify gardens, simply click on the Identify logo at the top (it should turn red/orange), then the area you wish to identify. Scroll down to view details. You can read information about the properties, such as land ownership, the block and lot number, zoning, and more.

Feel free to call our office or email us once you know the name of the garden, so that we can provide you with the contact information of the community volunteer(s) coordinating the garden activities.
